Within our workgroup, we have built a first prototype with digital SDS from Merck KGaA. Information is exchanged within the Value Chain using a federated approach.
The working group has been established for the digital exchange of product safety data. Merck KGaA has taken the first step and would like to make Merck Life Science's digital SDS for direct exchange between organizations available. But also other organizations are sharing their digital SDS with the Value Chain.

The aim of this working group is to jointly develop a procedure for exchanging data. We want to focus specifically on the requirements of the SDS and business processes around.
At the same time, first benefits for participants should be realized quickly.
The objective is the growth of a federated ecosystem, that ensures a more efficient and resilient Value Chain - Open and following democratic values for a sovereign industry .
coac has implemented connectors for Industrial Data Spaces, technology to read and createSDSCom standard, handling Exposure Scenarios from CESAR and much more. The solutionSAIFTY is offering also interfaces to all relevant SAP ERP modules.
At the same time, consortium of BDI, VCI, Catena-X and Chem-X are defining orhave defined further standards. This initiative aims to build a joined solutionfor all requirements.
The Task Force has created a strong foundation for the digital exchange of SDS untilnow. Other organizations can now join and participate. Controlled growth is animportant factor for the success of the overall initiative. The participationis managed within batches. The following batches are planned:
Batch 3:Involvement of further industry partners from mainly process industry
Batch 4:Involvement of industry partners from process- and discrete industry + technologypartners
Batch 5: Further scale of participants in the federatedsystem

All companies wishing to join the task force will be introduced during an upcoming session. This session will provide an introduction to the work that has been carried out already. Companies can then decide if they want to continue.
In a second step, new participants will be involved into various topic areas. The objective is to generate benefit for all participants as soon as possible. Topic-specific meetings will be scheduled, covering areas such as setup and use, further development and growth.
