Before diving into the process, take a moment to learn more about the interface and how to use our platform to its fullest potential.

The Extractions page allows users to create new extraction pipelines or configure existing pipelines. User can see an overview on all existing extraction processes, see how many documents have been processed, if currently extraction is ongoing and when the process has been created.

Users can directly drag-and-drop new files and folders into the Extraction so that the documents in scope are send through the AI pipeline and information is extracted.


Users can also open the configuration screen for each extraction process.

The view gives users the possibility to configure mail postboxes, define what information should be extracted per Section of a SDS, what languages are considered, if phrases should be automatically matched by the AI, what thresholds are relevant for the AI to consider matches where no approval is required, and more.

At the same time, users can define a name for a data storage so that several extraction processes with different configuration can store information inside the same storage.

Quick extraction allows you to easily upload your documents without any additional settings. Simply enable the feature when configuring your extraction.

You can find your documents either in approvals or in data assets linked to your extraction. If you don't want to approve the file you can go directly to your data asset.

Each document is processed in the background and presented to the user to run an approval process before the information is released and send to the SAIFTY specification database and/or SAP EH&S system.

The user gets a overview on all open and approved documents. Of course, this view can be filtered and tailored to the user needs by using the controls on top of the page.

Already approved documents are visualized inside a green box, to-be-approved documents are visualized inside a yellow box. Users can directly see the language of the document, key information like the name of the product, dates, versions, the manufacturer and potential issues with the document.

From here the user can jump into the approval screens.


The approval view allows users to see all extracted elements inside the standard SDS structure. SAIFTY marks all elements in yellow if the confidence of the AI model has not exceeded the defined threshold. Attributes that have a higher threshold are visualized in green.Users can click on the magnifier icon to open the approval view for each attribute.

On this screen, users can see the extracted value on the right side and the original document on the left side. The area, where information has been extracted from is marked with a white box. Users can easily see and validate the extraction area.To no now validate the information, users can change the text manually or mark another area in the document to let the tool to extract the relevant information.

Based on the extracted information, SAIFTY is using two approaches to verify if information is correct. One approach is rule-driven and another approach is data-driven.The rule-driven check is providing information on the storage class and also on LD50 in context of acute toxicity. The functionality will be extended on a recurring basis.

At the same time, SAIFTY is looking up CAS numbers of the product and components if there are materials included that are listed on regulatory lists like the SVHC, PIC, POC etc.. This functionality is so powerful, because it allows users to run complex validations fully automatically without investing time into own calculations.

The data-driven checks are focusing on comparables. SAIFTY is loading information from ECHA REACH dossiers when the document is processed.

SAIFTY shows below the extracted value also the information that is provided by ECHA. Users do not have to open the ECHA website, search for the correcpure substance and compare the website information with data from the SDS manually. In case information has not been found by SAIFTY, users can easily mark the location in the PDF document.

Supplier Requests

In case information is not acceptable, SAIFTY offers comprehensive communication functionality to handle the correspondence inside a specified process. The user can define a supplier request simply by clicking on attributes that they would like to see corrected.

It is also possible to ask for a new document version and more insights on the composition of the product.


The supplier will now receive a tailor made mail with all relevant information. By following the link in the mail, suppliers can directly input relevant information, upload documents and send a message back to the user.

SAIFTY can send reminders and make sure, that the processes are followed-up and information is exchanged. The supplier can see who has requested information and finds a very simple and intiutive user interface.

When the information has been provided by the supplier, the users receives a notification to continue his workflow.

SAIFTY can certify all requests using Web3 technology. This technology alllows legally secured and protected data transfer that can be use to provide legal proof


When the user has approved the information received by the supplier, all information is stored inside a central SAIFTY library and can be accessed any time.The search in SAIFTY is based on all key information of the managed specifi-cation. Users can search for manufacturers, product numbers and names, CAS numbers, and much more.

SAIFTY is showing the most likely match to the search terms, gives access to the document and the digital SDS, and offers functionalities to download the data as xls or mark it as a favorite.

SAIFTY offers access to all extracted information inside “data assets”. They can be compared to folders on a sharepoint drive, where different extractions are stored.

Users can export information stored in a data asset, rename it, and create new data assets. When clicking on one, the underlying specifications can be viewed.

Each specification can be shared, downloaded, stored as a favorit and opened. By opening the specification, the digital SDS or Passport is displayed

All extracted documents are transformed in SAIFTY into digital passports. SDS documents are stored as a digital SDS that can be used in several different ways.

Passports are used to give access to information and also to communicate with suppliers about products and compliance information.

Users can see all values in the passport stored inside the SAIFTY app. Information can be removed and corrected. Information from other sources can be added by using the form or by uploading xls documents.

The digital SDS can also be shared with other users like logistic partners and internal stakeholders that are interested to manage safety data sheets from suppliers in a more efficient way than pdf documents.

When the URL is generated, the link can be accessed by all users with general access to the app – even without having a registered user account.

SAIFTY can certify all shared passports using Web3 technology. This technology allows legal proof that a passport and the information is original.

Referencing Passports

SAIFTY also allows the linking of passports between each other. With referencing mechanisms, users can associate passports and show a relationship. This can be helpful for when raw materials are purchased from different vendors or a vendor is replaced by another. In this situation users can quickly lookup relevant information.

References can also be removed again. We are sure there will be several different passports in the future. SAIFTY offers the functionality to build and define passports within seconds. To define a new passport, users can start on the Passports page where an overview is available as well.

Passport template

It is also possible to create a new passport directly on the passport page. When defining a new passport, user can define relevant attributes by selecting them from the list of available attributes.

It is also possible to define new attributes that are not yet listed. When a new passport is created, users can simply select the relevant passport from the list on top of the passport details page.
